Deer Lake, Stevens County, Washington

DEER LAKE (1,146.4 acres, Elevation 2,482)
This lake is a popular fishing lake but also great for kayaking, sailing, etc. The lake includes a public boat launch with dock and there is a private resort that offers a launch as well, and camping, etc. Fishing: Open March 1, includes Crappie, Large and Smallmouth Bass, Perch, Rainbow Trout, and Lake Trout. Make sure to contact the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife for current rules. Directions: 14 miles southeast of Chewelah, and east of Highway US-395. One single lane cement grated launch pad at about 4% grade; DIRECT WATER ACCESS… No access for wheeled mobility devices; TRANSFER SYSTEMS... None; SENSORY... No sensory tactile markers for those with visual and other impairments; CAMPING... No. Limited camping around parking area; O.T.H.E.R… Oddities/Barriers: Lots marine vegetation along muddy the shoreline making access difficult other than at launch/designated launch area. Terrain: Level to about 5% grades; H2O/Water: Water normally clear/murky. Water temperature in the summer can be around 60 to 70 degree. Sites not designed for accessibility of wheeled mobilities devices but some site are level and easy to roll around; O.T.H.E.R… Oddities/Barriers: Sandy beach, mud at water's edge during low water times of the year.
