Solomon Lake, Boundary County, Idaho

Small Boats with Motors Allowed
ATTENTION THE SOLOMON LAKE LAUNCH FACILITY MARINE ACCESS HAS BEEN GREATLY IMPROVED. We will be reviewing the improvements and updating the info here as soon as spring run off has subsided. Stay tuned, update will be completed sometime this April-June 2020! We will include a fish stocking update as well.

Solomon Lake is a muddy lake that is NOT ideal for any other activity other than fishing; however locals are not sure the state is even stocking the lake with fish anymore. The lake parking area is also known locally for youth partying. The launch is gravel and depending on lake level turns to mud. There is an accessible restroom in the parking area. This is a "no wake" lake.

ACCESSIBILITY SCALE: 1. Parking... Loose gravel and dirt (mud in spring and winter), One accessible parking space; 2. Restroom… Accessible; 3. Dock(s)… No Dock; 4. Direct Water Access… Slightly accessible via very muddy primitive launch (caught a wheelchair will get stuck); O.T.H.E.R…  Oddities/Barriers: N/A; Trails/Paths: No Trails; H2O/Water: muddy water and becomes stagnant in late summer; Environmental Conditions… No issues; Resources: No near by stores, gas stations, running water, No camping but there is small some open space for Picnicing.

Directions: To access Solomon Lake from HWY 2 to Libby Montana (after passing through the city of Moyie Springs and the Moyie River bridge)... Watch the left/north side of the road for Old HWY 2 and a sign to Bonner Lake. Once on this road follow the signs to Perkins Lake, then turn northeast onto Solomon Lake Rd./Forest Service road 627. 1. T. McTevia, February 13, 2015 at 1:04 PM: I spent the 4th of July week at this lake in 2013. The lake was full and the fishing was great. Solomon lake is routinely stocked. It is a peaceful lake to spend a day relaxing in a kayak with a fishing pole and a good book.
