Lake San Souci, Bonner County, Idaho

LAKE SAN SOUCI
Lake San Souci is just southwest of Blanchard Idaho in the private housing development / resort of Stone Ridge. This is a private lake with public access. Kayakers and non motorized fishing boats frequently access this lake. There is no boat launch so launching is done at the public access site over the bank (A sign there indicates that fishing from the shore is only allowed between the designated signs). Fishing: No fish species info available. The sign at the public access site indicates that the following activities are not allowed: swimming, camping, fires, animals, loud noises, gas-operated motor boats. Directions: From Blanchard Idaho on HWY 41: Take Blanchard Road to the Stone Ridge sign; the public access site is behind this sign. INFO: Stone Ridge is a private resort with houses for purchase, RV park, premier golf course, and other amenities. At end of path by lake is a wide cement pad with picnic table; RESTROOMS/FACILITIES/SHADE… None. Shade via trees; DOCKS/LAUNCHES/PLATFORMS… No docks/platforms. No developed launch. Launch from bank; DIRECT WATER ACCESS… No developed access for wheeled mobility devices; TRANSFER SYSTEMS... None; SENSORY... No sensory tactile markers for those with visual and other impairments; CAMPING... No; O.T.H.E.R… Oddities/Barriers: Steep bank and mud at water's edge; Terrain: Mostly level except at bank; H2O/Water: Water normally murky. Water temperature in the summer can be around 60 to 70 degree. No drinking water available; Environmental Conditions: Varies; Resources: Food, drinks, and gas in town of Blanchard, ID.
