Why a 14-Year-Old Girl Decided to Sail Around the World Alone is a question some might ask and is it right to allow one so young to do it is another question. Now there is a film that tells the story Laura Dekker attempts to circumnavigate the globe. Here is as clip from the movie... . Honestly I really would not want one of my sons or my daughter at this age doing such a trip. I grew up working and sailing on the Pacific... the Ocean has very real dangers more so that many other environments and so I feel one that is older and experienced should only do such as trip, however everyone has a right to live their own lives the way they want. What do you think?
