HOBIE

HOBIE MIRAGE ISLAND... Looking for a super-fun multisport boat for one or two? The single seater is called the Adventure Island or AI; the two seater is called the Tandem Island or TI. In its most elemental form, the Island is a super-fast sailing trimaran that you can pedal or paddle. Attach the aka cross-beams, the ama floats and the two-piece carbon fiber rig and sail, and you and/or a partner will be flying across the water, powered by a roller-furling, boomless mainsail. Both the cockpits have scupper drain plugs that suck out any water while on the move, a highly adjustable Vantage seat that allows one to say driver than in past models and to adjust the lumbar and seat bottom; The seat can be taken out to be used as a camp/beach chair. Steering and sail control lines can be all used while seated with no need to move from one side of the boat to the other when tacking... All these features makes the Island Ideal for any person in spite of skill level or disAbility. And the boat's generous storage space and carrying capacity means that your adventure potential is huge.

Besides being known as the king of the surf, the H16 is also the worlds #1 raced catamaran... its fast, and is known for its wild ride. When a gust of wind hits its sails it will accelerate in seconds. With practice one can leisurely sail by letting off the gas (trim the  sails to depower, etc.).
